The difference in difficulty and patterns in the 3*'s seemed totally different to the 2*s and that getting used to the rhythms and patterns in the 2*s was actually quite detrimental for me. Whereas a couple of months back when i attempted to play a higher ranked song eg 3* coming off mid range 2*s, the 2* songs did not help in preparation for the 3* whatsoever and I would flat out fail until I attempted other 3* songs then went back to that old one which I ended up suddenly getting consistent A's in. I just personally feel like playing higher ranked songs helps me improve in lower ranked songs as they feel a lot more slower and readable. Is that just me? I feel like playing lower ranked songs do not help at all. People around your rank can be way better/worse, only to some extend, though. PP means nothing and is no indicator of skill, it is a vague system that tries to display your "skill". Also, you don't play rhythm games to pass hard stuff, you try to be as close as possible to the rhythm, which means you have to get good accuracy in order to get the maximum out of it. Skipping a few steps of the game will take you nowhere and you WILL end up disappointed with the results. Rhythm games have no skill cap and require lots of practice to "git guud". Let's be real here, what said is absolutely right, play 1-2* maps and try to learn the game from the scratch. Just play more.Įither take my advice or stay shit like you are right now. ![]() There's nothing wrong with that technique you listed, many pro players use it. If you want improvement you play a little bit above your comfort zone. Lower the star rating till you find maps you can consistently get 95%+ on. if you get an s-rank that is.įocus on accuracy and aim for a full combo instead of a pass. You basically mash through every song and luck through once you get s-rank. Accuracy sucks and the maps you're playing are way too hard for you. In summary is my technique wrong or am I just lacking practice as usual? Should I be attempting 4 star maps even though I can pass some of them when I haven't even S'd many 3-4 star maps?Īll of your top plays are trash. Is there something wrong with the alternating technique? I see many pros spamming z only until there is a big stream. I also feel like i'm good at single taps, sliders across the map and general reading but am bad at triple tap sliders and doubles. ![]() ![]() I use a g400s mouse and mech keyboard with redswitches and my playstyle is alternating every beat zxzxzx etc. I feel like perhaps maybe I've moved from 3 star maps too fast? Should I be able to regularly S 3 star maps before trying 4 stars?Īlso my accuracy on some maps is god awful (like <85%) and it doesn't really matter how many times I try them, it just doesn't improve and I have to retry many times to be able to S something and after that I usually can't do it again. I've been trying 4-4.5 star maps and some of them I can do moderately well on (A with 90+% accuracy) but others I flat out fail in the first minute. I've been playing regularly for a couple of months now and I feel like i'm at a plateau (you guys probably hear this all the time).
