![]() But Addison is able to forge an alliance with Martinez through the wisdom of working with known hostiles to achieve a goal. Ian wonders if maybe Ziggy assigned two leapers out of necessity. The question remains: is Martinez evil? Martinez and Ben share the same goal: to save Judith and keep leaping. Sam Beckett’s (Scott Bakula) encounters with other leapers….evil leapers. Ian also discovers a misfiled report from the original Quantum Leap project that details Dr. The second alert that Ian receives through Ziggy is the anomaly of Richard Martinez leaping into Ben’s leap. Everyone is now on the level playing field called “The Great Unknown.” Just moments after learning a little bit more about Ben’s and Janis’ plan, that plan gets tossed out the window. The team ignores Janis’ pleas and continues doing everything possible to save Judith and Ben and help him leap. Magic declares for all to hear that he promised Janis’ father, Al Calavicci (the late Dean Stockwell), that he would never allow another leaper to be lost in spacetime. It’s not only Addison, Ben’s fiancé, who adamantly opposes the plan that Janis says is exactly what Ben wants (if only Ben could remember what he wants). If he fails, then his mission, according to Janis, must be to sabotage the leap and get stuck forever in the asylum, sacrificing himself for the greater good. Somewhat arbitrarily, Ben has only a trinity of chances to intervene. And she delivers shocking news: this is Ben’s last chance to stop Leaper X, a.k.a Richard Martinez (Walter Perez), from reaching his destination point where Addison (Caitlin Bassett) will require saving. Removing her ankle monitor is a ploy akin to making a phone call and getting put through immediately. ![]() The Quantum Leap project put Janis on the back burner and she’s had enough of being ignored. When Magic (Ernie Hudson) rolls up to question Janis, she is still at home, safe and sound. I suspect we may not see her again this season, but I can hold out hope that there will be a social gathering in the epilogue of Ben's misadventure that might see her invited.First, Janis Calavicci (Georgina Reilly) is on house arrest at her mother’s place and tampers with her ankle monitor. I am intensely interested in learning more about Rachel. : I find when I need centering, the answer isn’t usually a place, it’s a person.Magic: I find when I need centering, the answer isn’t usually a place, it’s a person. He can only force Ian out of HQ and hope they have someone to turn to. Magic sees that Ian's fear is causing them to spiral and knows he isn't the person Ian needs to see themself clearly. But having you spun out like this is not helping you or us. They fear they will make a decision that will harm their best friends. They are central because they care for Ben and Addison. What I love is that Ian is the central character in this storm of questions, but not because of their role as the genius programmer or a non-binary-identifying person. Ben Song could use to set right what once went wrong. : Do you really want pride to get in the way of family?.I’ve never seen it before.īen gives voice to many things that drive immigrant parents and families when making a new life in America.Ĭoming from him, the pressure put on the younger generation and the bastion of pride built to defend against all perceived threats - even family - is described with an authenticity that wouldn't have translated to Sam Beckett's life experience.ĭo you really want pride to get in the way of family? ![]() It's a sad but believable fact that it takes seriously cutting her hand and passing out cold before Sonali is open to listening and considering a way other than the path she's decided on. However, it's Ben's conversation with Sonali that makes the difference that he wishes he could've made for his mother. Ziggy's never a 100% accurate predictor for Ben's purpose in a leap, and it's interesting to note that even if Ben had prevented the fire, it might not have saved the family.
